2019 Feedlot Shortcourse and BQA Transportation Training @ Brookings

SDSU Extension will be hosting a training on Aug. 13-14 at 1 PM CDT at the South Dakota State University Cow/Calf Education and Research Facility (CCERF) (2910 Western Ave., Brookings, SD 57007).
Aspects of feedlot management that impact cattle performance and profitability
Strategies to deal with feed challenges associated with late planting conditions such as silage utilization and high-moisture grain management
Strategies on how to use the backgrounding phase to manage cattle’s genetic potential more precisely will be another keynote portion of the program
Consequences of improper implanting techniques

Participants will also have the option of obtaining BQA Transportation certification beginning at 1 PM on August 14th, this specific training opportunity will be offered at no charge. Attendance at the Shortcourse is not necessary to participate in the BQA Transportation certification, but pre-registration will be required.
Registration for both programs is limited and open to cattle feeders, backgrounders, or allied industry professionals. Costs for the Shortcourse (including dinner on day 1 and lunch on day 2) will be $150. Registration for the BQA Transportation certification is no cost.
