Oct. 16 workshop to demystify record keeping for ranchers
October 16, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm$20
LITTLE ROCK – Keeping the right records is critical to maintaining a profitable cattle operation and knowing which records to keep and why is the bottom line for the Oct. 16 workshop to be held at the Livestock and Forestry Research Station in Batesville.
The workshop runs from 9 a.m. – noon. Registration before the event is required and the deadline is Oct. 9. Cost is $20 to attend and the limited-seating event includes lunch. Email to register.
“There is so much about a cattle operation that needs to be recorded. For example, knowing which cows are productive is essential to keeping a ranch in the black,” said Shane Gadberry, professor-ruminant nutrition for the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture.
This workshop will take participants through cattle ID, what information is worthy of keeping, electronic record keeping options and will also have hands-on exercises.
