EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn., Nov. 7, 2017 – Zinpro Corporation and Leachman Cattle of Colorado are pleased to sponsor this year’s breakfast at the 2017 Range Beef Cow Symposium. “What They Eat Matters!” will include a presentation by Dr. Reinaldo Cooke, associate professor beef cattle production, at the department of animal science at Texas A&M University, on the importance of Generational Nutrition® in cow-calf operations. Ryan Peterson, sales manager from Leachman Cattle of Colorado, will present, “What We’ve Learned from 10 Years of Selection for Feed Efficiency.”
Generational Nutrition is a research concept championed by Zinpro that offspring can benefit greatly from maternal trace mineral nutrition long after birth. “The topic of generational nutrition is especially important this year, as many producers have been impacted by less-than-ideal range conditions that can have a long-term impact on their herd’s overall health and well-being,” says Jason Russell, Ph.D., research nutritionist – beef, Zinpro Corporation. “This will be timely information, because producers need to understand how proper nutrition now can have long-term benefits to their herd.”
The breakfast will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 29. Breakfast will be served beginning at 6:30 a.m., with presentations beginning at 7:30 a.m., during the annual Range Beef Cow Symposium in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The symposium is one of the largest gatherings of producers, industry experts and industry suppliers in the western United States. The Nov. 28-30 event features topics on animal nutrition, herd health, international trade, range management and beef demand outlook.
“Zinpro is pleased to present this program with Leachman Cattle of Colorado, and to be able to discuss such important and timely topics related to animal wellness and performance,” Dr. Russell says.
